Awesome New Retailers at Wesbrook Village

Wesbrook Village is not only growing with new residents (your wonderful neighbours) but new shops and services. A number of unique businesses are slated to arrive this year, all of which will enhance the neighbourhood even more.

Daily Catch Seafood - Now Open!
Daily Catch has seen incredible success on Commercial Drive, and have wanted to bring their sustainable high quality seafood to the West Side for some time. (Many people were already traveling from across town to get its fresh daily seafood.) This place will be especially appealing to the sustainability minded: the Daily Catch menu is 100% Ocean Wise approved - exceedingly uncommon. And many of the staff are true foodies; if you need some advice, they'll be more than capable of some culinary guidance. It's a seafood lover's dream store, basically. We're glad to have reeled these guys in! They just opened this past weekend so stop by and check out their fresh fish and live lobster and crab tanks! Located across from Save-On-Foods (5910 Berton Ave, Vancouver, V6S 0E4)

Doughgirls Comfort Kitchen & Bakeshop
Nothing says neighbourhood like the smell of fresh bread: enter the Doughgirls. Inspired by a 1940s theme, the Doughgirls bring fresh, made-from-scratch food, artisan baking, and old time desserts to our neighbourhood. Timeless favourites like Shepherd's Pie, Cornish Pasties, Mom's chocolate cake, King Ranch Chicken, and Southern Buttermilk Biscuits will comfort the soul, and the menu will change every season. According to the Doughgirls themselves, it's "Down home done right". We can't wait to sample their wares.

Craft beer has moved decisively from marginal to mainstream. Pretty much every serious beer drinker has a favourite small-batch, local brew on his or her roster. Biercraft has been on the craft train for some time, and we're excited to get them into the neighbourhood. With 120 beers on tap (about half from Belgium, the rest from North America), it's safe to say that every palate is accounted for (not to mention a very extensive wine selection). All this complements excellent food like pulled pork, steak frites, Biercraft's signature mussels - a Belgian classic, of course. All in all, we're thrilled to raise a glass with these guys.

Hot Box Yoga
Hot Box Yoga is infrared warm yoga practice like you've never seen it before. Their motto is "Less Traditional. More Authentic," and the Hot Box studio is known as the "Happiness Machine" - this gives you a hint of what they're all about. The playful, easygoing classes include concepts like Baptiste Power, "Hipster", Detox, and Zen (among others). Also awesome: prices are around 20% of prime competitors! We can't wait to get inside that Happiness Machine and get moving!
