Craig Shirra, UBCPT Director of Development Kelowna, elected to Board of Downtown Kelowna Association
Craig Shirra, Director of Development at UBC Properties Kelowna, has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Downtown Kelowna Association.
The not-for-profit association provides services and programs to local businesses and individuals to help them thrive and grow in the downtown core, making it a safe and desirable place to live, learn, work, and play. It is responsible for marketing, promoting, and boosting the Downtown Business Improvement Area (BIA)’s trade and commerce. Any business within the BIA is automatically qualified as a member.
The Board of Directors is voted in annually by the membership and serves a two-year term.
“The Downtown Kelowna Association (DKA) plays a crucial role in organizing community events such as the Car Show & Shine and business socials. In addition to these activities, the DKA offers the Downtown on Call service, which assists local businesses in addressing issues within the downtown core. Engaging in community initiatives has provided valuable insights into the opportunities and potential challenges related to the future UBCO Downtown at 550 Doyle Ave.”
