Gateway
Located at the point of entry into UBC, the Gateway building will be a monumental structure symbolizing UBC’s identity as a world-class university.
The iconic six-storey landmark will combine the School of Nursing, School of Kinesiology, Integrated Student Health Services, and components of UBC Health.

General teaching spaces are carefully placed throughout, including four large lecture theatres, high-fidelity simulation labs, and a team-based primary care interprofessional clinic.
Designed with significant consultation with the Musqueam Band, Gateway will be constructed using a proprietary mass timber-hybrid system to enhance sustainability and well-being and contribute to UBC’s net-zero goal. This will be the first time the CREE structural system is used in North America, setting the standard for sustainable, high-quality, and efficient construction.
