Evolve, a visionary 6-storey rental building and certified Passive House, is a testament to our transformative work.
Designed exclusively for UBC faculty and staff and managed by Village Gate Homes, these 110 notable homes reside in the heart of Wesbrook Village, at the corner of Wesbrook Mall and Gray Avenue.
Committed to sustainability, Evolve is the first campus residential building to become Passive House certified. This means homes are built to maximize energy efficiency and comfort with minimal environmental impact. Further enhancing living experiences, Evolve will feature an outdoor shared courtyard including a BBQ and children’s play area with the adjacent building, Echo.
In partnership with UBC, we secured a $3.5M Natural Resources Canada grant to assist in covering Passive House construction costs, funding that will also support UBC research and be shared as an industry-leading project shaping the future of multi-unit residential construction. It has achieved UBC’s second-ever REAP Platinum certification with significantly reduced construction and site environmental impacts.
